About The Position

This position is classified as a Shuttle Bus Driver, which reports to the Security and Transportation Manager and is an hourly, non-exempt position. The Shuttle Bus Driver is responsible for supplying transportation services to students and performing general maintenance duties throughout the center. The role involves transporting students by van, shuttle bus, and automobile to various vocational sites, medical centers, recreational activities, courts, etc. Additionally, the driver inspects and reports on the mechanical condition of vehicles, maintains accurate trip reports, and performs alarm and patrol duties when not driving.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Six months work-related experience preferred.
  • Valid State driver’s license and an acceptable driving record required.
  • Preferred Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with passenger endorsement.
  • Required to pass a drug screen in compliance with Substance Abuse and Drug-Free Workplace policy.
  • Employment contingent upon successful completion of a nationwide criminal background check.

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to obtain and maintain CPR/First Aid Certification.
  • Ability to operate power tools.
  • Ability to effectively relate to trainee population.
  • Ability to fluently read and write English.

Responsibilities

  • Supply transportation services to students.
