The Shuttle Bus Driver (Van Driver) drives minibus or van to transport clients, trainees, or company personnel; drives vehicle from individual or central loading area to social services or rehabilitation center, training location, job site, or other destination according to assigned schedule. This driver may assist disabled passengers into and out of vehicle, secure passengers' wheelchairs to restraining devices to stabilize wheelchairs during trip; may operate radio or similar device to communicate with base station or other vehicles to report disruption of service, clean and/or service vehicle with fuel, lubricants, and accessories, keep records of trips and/or behavior of passengers, and perform other duties when not driving such as, custodial and building maintenance tasks. This part-time position will only be available for 29 hours/week. The driver assists passengers and military units as required, in all weather conditions to include but not limited to intense heat, smoke, heavy wind, blowing sand, heavy rain, snow, sleet, and ice. They regulate heating, lighting, and ventilating systems for passenger comfort, and comply with local, state, and federal traffic regulations. The role involves inspecting van units per DOT regulations, confirming fuel, oil, and water levels before missions, abiding by Shuttle Service Operations rules, and reporting schedule delays, vehicle damage, or accidents to the Shuttle Service Supervisor immediately. Drivers are responsible for pre-check inspections, record keeping, dispatching, maintaining, utilizing, cleaning, and refueling equipment. They will drive front, rear, or all-wheel drive 12 or 15 passenger vans to complete 3 different shuttle services 7 days a week, and perform other duties assigned by the Supervisor.
