About The Position

The Galt House is currently hiring for the position of a part- time shuttle bus driver for an overnight shift of 11 PM- 7 AM, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. The shuttle bus driver will be responsible for safely transporting guests between the hotel and the Louisville International Airport.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Clean driving record.
  • 2- 3 years of professional driving experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Safely and efficiently operate the hotel shuttle van to transport guests to and from the airport and assist with loading and unloading guests luggage and other belongings as needed.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by greeting guests, assisting with luggage, and ensuring a comfortable and enjoyable ride.
  • Maintain a clean and well-maintained shuttle van, including washing, cleaning, fueling, regular inspections and adherence to maintenance schedules.
  • Follow all traffic laws and safety regulations while operating the shuttle van, ensuring the safety of passengers and other road users.
  • Coordinate with the Front Office Managers or Director of Rooms to schedule shuttle runs based on hotel needs.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times, representing the hotel in a positive manner.
  • Keep accurate records of shuttle runs, including passenger counts, destinations, and any notable incidents or feedback. Complete and submit daily vehicle inspection and guest count checklists.
  • Handle guest inquiries and provide information about local attractions, restaurants, and amenities.
  • Adhere to the hotel's policies and procedures, including confidentiality and security protocols.
  • Attends and participates in monthly front desk and driver meetings.
  • Inspects van to ensure that it is in order and that supplies are adequate. Reports damage, accidents, or unsafe conditions immediately to supervisor.
  • Offers information pertaining to available services and facilities of hotel, points of interest and entertainment attractions. Answers questions related to airport facilities.
  • Pages guests in lobby, delivers messages and runs errands, returns errant bell carts in parking lot and from guest floors.
  • Maintains lobby in a clean and tidy manner; this includes, but is not limited to ashtrays, trash, seating areas, front doors, floors, etc.
  • Maintains the front port-cochere by picking up trash, cleaning oil leaks, shoveling snow, melting ice, hosing off sidewalks etc.
  • Adheres to all local and state laws and brand and owner guidelines pertaining to driver certification and safe transport of guests. No texting or use of cell phones while vehicle is moving.
