About The Position

The Shredding Specialist at Stericycle is responsible for the efficient handling of waste paper, including receiving, segregating, and loading materials into a paper shredder. This role is integral to the local operations team, ensuring that all trucks are prepared for the next day's assignments while maintaining a safe and clean working environment. The position requires teamwork and adherence to safety protocols, contributing to the overall mission of protecting health and well-being.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 1+ years of experience, preferably in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
  • 6+ months experience as a certified forklift driver and basic maintenance is preferred.
  • Valid Driver's License required with a history of good driving records.
  • Forklift Certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Unload shredded paper, media, and products from Shred-it's trucks at the assigned branch nightly.
  • Reload trucks with specific equipment needed for the next day's assignment.
  • Operate and maintain baling machinery at the branch.
  • Ensure all paper bales are staged or loaded for shipment as required.
  • Perform shredding operations in support of Shred-it's off-site shredding program.
  • Safeguard plant hardware and equipment by locking and activating security systems.
  • Operate forklifts and perform preventative maintenance on forklifts as required.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working area according to Shred-It and NAID standards.
  • Ensure that all truck compartments and cabs are cleaned nightly in accordance with company guidelines.
  • Perform weekly, monthly, and yearly preventative maintenance on all equipment.
  • Maintain supplies for plant operations.
  • Maintain a responsible approach to all security and safety matters related to the operation of Shred-it, following company policies and procedures.
