About The Position

The Sales Consultant is a Waterworks associate dedicated to supporting the RH Newport Beach team in driving sales of our product and elevating the overall client experience. This role combines in-gallery support, product expertise, and proactive market outreach to trade clients (architects, designers, contractors, plumbers) in order to build demand for Waterworks product in the region. The Consultant will work closely with RH Newport Beach Gallery leaders and associates to increase confidence in selling the Waterworks assortment on the RH platform, identify opportunities within the gallery, and guide clients through product selection. When not in the gallery, the Consultant will market to area trade clients to create interest, drive specifications, and support both the RH and Waterworks pipelines. The role will also include occasional direct selling of select Waterworks categories not included in the RH assortment—such as custom cabinetry and tile—while ensuring a seamless, coordinated experience with the RH team. This position requires schedule flexibility, including some evening and weekend hours to meet business needs, as well as occasional travel to nearby RH galleries. As ambassadors of the Waterworks brand, Sales Consultants model the values of leadership and entrepreneurial spirit, and executing sales and service strategies with a customer-centric approach and a passion for the Waterworks products.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of sales, business development, or client-facing experience, ideally within luxury home, design, cabinetry, plumbing, tile, or related categories.
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales goals.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and influencing skills with the ability to support both clients and trade professionals.
  • Experience with architects, designers, builders, or trades professionals strongly preferred.
  • Digitally proficient; comfortable with Microsoft Office, CRM platforms, and related sales tools.
  • Highly organized, self-driven, and capable of managing multiple client projects simultaneously.
  • Passion for design, craftsmanship, and the Waterworks brand.
  • Marketing outside of the gallery up to 50%

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge of cabinetry design or plumbing fixtures preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver an exceptional luxury client experience, reinforcing Waterworks and RH brand values.
  • Meet or exceed goals related to lead generation, opportunity development, quotes, and orders.
  • Provide consistent reporting on outreach activity, pipeline status, and market insights.
  • Contribute to initiatives that strengthen the Waterworks × RH partnership and support the gallery’s overall success.
  • Demonstrate flexibility with scheduling (including some nights and weekends) and willingness to travel to nearby galleries, Waterworks showrooms, and the Waterworks office as required.
  • Other duties and accountabilities as assigned
  • Partner with RH Gallery Leaders and associates to strengthen their ability to sell the Waterworks assortment available on the RH platform.
  • Collaborate with the RH team to identify opportunities for Waterworks solutions beyond the RH assortment and support the client connection as needed.
  • Serve as the in-gallery Waterworks product expert—supporting consultations, educating the team, and increasing selling confidence.
  • Maintain Waterworks visual and brand presentation standards within the RH gallery.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with architects, interior designers, builders, and plumbers across the Newport Beach/Orange County region to generate demand for Waterworks.
  • Present the Waterworks product portfolio to generate interest, secure specifications, and create demand that benefits both RH and Waterworks.
  • Participate in industry events, CEUs, networking opportunities, and project site meetings to build visibility and drive new opportunities.
