About The Position

Position Criteria: Demonstrate aptitude for performing tasks listed Must exhibit ethical practices and be a role model to students Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable Performance Criteria: Serve as primary director of one cocurricular show choir Create calendar, reserve facilities for rehearsals and performances, and prepare for the year’s show choir events to include: Weekly rehearsals before or after school (typically October-March) 3-5 invitational performances annually Attend and supervise student participation in events including all show choir invitationals and Starstruck Coordinate and oversee the show choir’s finances Order and maintain inventory of performance attire, repertoire, and equipment Recruit and oversee show choir band; schedule rehearsals with instrumentalists Coordinate bus/transportation needs for rehearsals, performances, competitions, and other events as applicable Assist with the organization and execution of feeder high school’s annual Show Choir Invitational Assist with set up and clean up after show choir events Collaborate with other District show choir directors around program philosophies, event logistics, and other opportunities Communicate with guardians, community, staff, administration, and other stakeholders regarding schedules, competitions, transportation, etc. Collaborate with facility support staff as needed including Operations and Performing Arts Center Management Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the District
