About The Position

As a Short Term Disability Claims Analyst 2, you will play a crucial role in assisting clients with their short-term disability claims during significant life changes. This position requires strong analytical and interpersonal skills to navigate a fast-paced environment, ensuring effective claim decisions and providing support to clients throughout the process.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent with 3+ years of customer-facing work experience.
• Bachelor's/Associate's degree, with 1+ years of customer-facing work experience preferred.
• Short Term Disability Claim Processing Experience - at least 1 year of successful performance in processing Short Term Disability claims preferred.
• Legal and policy experience - ability to read, interpret policies, policy provisions, and industry regulations.
• Basic math skills.
• Ability to actively listen and provide strong customer service with empathy.
• Ability to accept & apply feedback and maintain a high degree of accuracy.
• Excellent analytical, interpersonal, problem-solving, decision-making, and multi-tasking skills.
• Computer skills and typing proficiency - Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Acquire, analyze, and investigate medical, financial, and contractual information to make effective and timely claim decisions.
• Connect with employers, employees, and medical providers via phone, email, text, and letters.
• Provide customers with updates regarding medical conditions, restrictions & limitations, job duties, group short term disability policy provisions, claim decisions, status, and all other aspects of the claim process.
• Supervise and follow up on outstanding items to ensure compliance with regulations, service timing, and quality guidelines.
