About The Position

We’re looking for a skilled Shopify Plus Full-Stack Developer to join our team on a part-time, hourly basis. You’ll be the technical backbone of our e-commerce operations—building custom Shopify apps, developing and maintaining Shopify Plus storefronts, and owning the supporting infrastructure that powers our digital commerce ecosystem.
This isn’t just a theme development role. You’ll architect custom apps, integrate with third-party systems, deploy supporting microservices to serverless environments, and maintain the health of everything in production. We need someone who understands Shopify deeply and can build the custom tooling and integrations that take a Shopify Plus store beyond out-of-the-box capabilities.

Requirements

• Shopify Depth, Not Just Breadth
• You’ve done more than install apps and make minor theme tweaks. You understand Shopify’s architecture deeply—why things work the way they do, what the platform’s limitations are, and how to build around them. You can evaluate when to use a third-party app versus building custom.
• Full-Stack Ownership
• You’re comfortable across the entire stack. You can build a polished Liquid theme, develop a custom app with Polaris UI, deploy the backend to Lambda, and set up monitoring in Datadog. You don’t throw code over the wall—you own it through deployment and production.
• Production Mindset
• You think about what happens after code ships. You care about error rates, response times, and user experience in production. When something breaks, you want to know why and prevent it from happening again.

• Shopify has constraints. Every platform does. You can work within them creatively, evaluate trade-offs, and make decisions that balance ideal solutions with practical realities. You know when to build custom and when to use existing solutions.

• Shopify Plus Platform (Required)
• 2+ years of hands-on Shopify development experience
• Deep proficiency with Liquid templating language (not just basics—complex logic, objects, filters)
• Experience with Shopify Plus tier features and capabilities
• Strong understanding of Shopify’s data model (products, variants, collections, customers, orders, metafields)
• Experience building and deploying Shopify Custom Apps
• Proficiency with Shopify CLI and modern app development workflow
• Working knowledge of Shopify Admin API (GraphQL strongly preferred)
• Experience with Storefront API for headless/custom storefronts
• Familiarity with Polaris component library and Shopify design patterns
• Understanding of Shopify’s app review requirements and best practices
• Shopify Plus Advanced Features
• Experience with Checkout Extensibility (Checkout UI Extensions, post-purchase extensions)
• Familiarity with Shopify Functions (discounts, shipping, payment customizations)
