About The Position

The Shop Welder - Line Bore Technician 3, performs most welding repairs on heavy construction equipment or related components in a shop environment. Demonstrates a willingness to help in other areas when needed.

  • Ability to follow logical troubleshooting procedures
  • Ability to make precisely coordinated movements of the fingers of one or both hands in order to grasp, manipulate, or assemble very small objects
  • Ability to read, write, and understand schematics, blueprints and manufacture specifications
  • Ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences
  • Must own a large assortment of tools to perform repairs and jobs
  • Has met HDSI requirements for preceding Machinist levels; Ability to model and teach Holt's VBL Culture
  • Ongoing Safety Training
  • High school diploma or equivalent, accreditation from a technical school or an applicable skilled trades program preferred.
  • Three years' of construction machinery welding experience required

Responsibilities

  • Models, promotes, reinforces, and rewards the consistent use of HOLT's Values Based Leadership (VBL) tools, models, and processes to ensure alignment with our Vision, Values, and Mission
  • Demonstrates well developed technical skills and performs most standard machine jobs and repairs
  • Performs all types of machining operations to manufacture, modify, and repair machine parts, equipment, and components
  • Lays out tasks, reads and interprets blueprints and technical publications, designs and draws working sketches
  • Works as a member of a team to provide basic mechanical services that satisfies customer needs and achieves departmental goals
  • Works overtime as required by workload and customers' needs
  • Maintains all company equipment, tools, and work areas in a good, clean, and working order
  • Performs tasks under indirect supervision and often helps other Machinists on large jobs
  • Provides significant task and behavior-oriented supervision to other Machinists
  • Provides assistance, coaching, and mentoring to other Machinists
  • Prepares service reports and any other necessary paperwork
  • Examines workpieces for defects to ensure conformance with specifications
  • Adheres to contamination control and HAZMAT rules and regulations
  • Actively participates in observations and safety meetings
  • Requires regular and punctual employee attendance
  • Works safely at all times and adheres to all applicable safety policies; complies with all company policies, procedures, and standards
  • Performs other duties as assigned
