About The Position

Perma-Pipe in Hebron, OH is looking for Shop Utility Technicians (Entry Level) The Shop Utility Technician (Entry Level) supports our fabrication and production operations. This is an entry-level, hands-on role designed for individuals who are dependable, safety-focused, and eager to work in an industrial manufacturing environment. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States. This position supports skilled trades such as welding and fabrication by assisting with material handling, basic production tasks, and maintaining clean, organized work areas to ensure safe and efficient operations. The role is situated in Hebron, OH and is not a remote or hybrid position. Perma-Pipe International Holdings, Inc is a dynamic, global supplier of pipe coating solutions and factory pre-insulated piping systems serving the oil & gas, district heating and cooling, and industrial markets. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Basic math skills, including measurement and conversions.
  • Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints or production instructions.
  • Familiarity with hand tools and measuring devices preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Willingness to learn and take direction in a fast-paced setting.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in manufacturing, fabrication, or industrial environments is a plus (not required).

Responsibilities

  • Assist welders, fabricators, and machine operators with daily shop activities.
  • Support basic fabrication tasks including measuring, cutting, grinding, and deburring materials.
  • Read and follow work orders and basic blueprints to support production accuracy.
  • Transport raw materials and finished products throughout the facility.
  • Use hand tools and material handling equipment safely and effectively.
  • Assist with staging and organizing materials to support workflow.
  • Perform general housekeeping duties including cleaning work areas and removing scrap.
  • Maintain organized workspaces and ensure tools and materials are properly stored.
  • Safely operate hand tools and power tools in accordance with company standards.
  • Observe equipment operation and report any malfunctions or safety concerns.
  • Follow all company safety policies and maintain a clean, hazard-free environment.
