About The Position

This position is responsible for general warehouse operations, including organizing and cleaning the workspace, refilling stock, ensuring general safety, and learning the technical aspects of the trade. The role is with an industry-leading fire, life safety, and security company dedicated to protecting lives and achieving dreams.

Requirements

  • Troubleshooting skills
  • Must have good interpersonal skills and be able to work in a team environment as well as work independently
  • Ability to display knowledge of principles, practices, codes and regulations related to the work
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and reports
  • Ability to understand and follow oral and written directions
  • Ability to use or repair small/light equipment, such as power tools, ladders, medium equipment and machinery

Nice To Haves

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Previous Shop Technician experience
  • Vocational training
  • Industry experience

Responsibilities

  • General warehouse operations
  • Receiving freight, operating a forklift, and stocking the warehouse
  • Perform all inventory counts and maintain inventory stock levels
  • Check in orders and stock all inventory items
  • Maintain adequate shipping supplies
  • Perform all shipping
  • Keep shop organized and clean
  • Maintain, clean, and organize all shop tools
  • Check specialty tools in and out
  • Maintaining extinguishers and system cylinders in various locations in shop
  • Record and document all inspections, repairs, discrepancies, and recommendations either electronically or manually
  • Maintain a good positive relationship with the customer and pass on information to the appropriate personnel for follow up, quotes, questions, or concerns
  • Maintain equipment and tools necessary to safely perform job
  • Perform other duties assigned by management
  • Adheres to the Code of Conduct, Confidentiality Agreement, and Company Safety Policy
  • Performs other duties as assigned
