About The Position

Position Opportunity The Associate Shop Technician completes the cleaning and passivation of customer jobs within Astro Pak facilities. Shop Technicians work together to complete the process in a safe and expedient manner to prevent unnecessary down time of the customer equipment. Proper calculations and installation of Astro Pak equipment plus vigilant operation of said equipment is necessary.

Requirements

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) strongly preferred
• One (1) year technical training or certification course; one (1) year related experience or equivalent combination of experience and education.
• Ability to read and understand work instructions, documents, correspondence and memos.
• Effective communication skills which include verbal and written in English
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Ability to wear a respirator as needed
• Ability to perform basic mathematical functions.
• Should be able to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
• Moderate computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Willing and able to work significant overtime, including holidays, weekends, and on short notice call in as required.

Nice To Haves

• OSHA Certification preferred
• Technical Training or AA Degree preferred
• HAZWOPER, Confined Space Certifications are preferred

Responsibilities

• Load/Unload vehicles with proper equipment/chemicals for offsite projects
• Testing and cleaning of equipment when returned from jobs
• Ability to operate Astro Pak Forklift
• Mixing various chemicals including but not limited to: citric, caustic and other hazardous chemicals
• Critical care/handling of customer parts
• Inspection and shipping and receiving of customer parts
• Maintains work area clean to CEO (Clean, Efficient, Organized)/5S Standards
• OSHA Certification
• Handle multiple tasks simultaneously
• Competence to comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures
• Ability to don proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for different chemical mixing processes
• Other duties as assigned by Operations Manager and/or Facility Manager
