We are seeking a Shop Technician to join our service team. In this role, you’ll work primarily in a shop environment performing diagnostics, maintenance, repairs, and rebuilds on Caterpillar® and other heavy equipment. You’ll help keep machinery running safely and reliably — supporting both Quinn customers and internal teams. Requirements

  • Familiarity with diagnostic tools such as Cat Electronic Technician (ET) and mechanical test equipment.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to work independently.
  • High School Diploma, one to two years mechanical experience or equivalent education and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostics, troubleshooting, repairs, and reconditioning on heavy equipment, engines, drivetrains, hydraulics, and electrical systems.l.
  • Inspect incoming equipment and perform preventive maintenance and pre‑delivery checks.
  • Use specialized tools and diagnostic software to complete quality repairs.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and emergency services to minimize downtime for customers.
  • Maintain accurate service records, repair orders, and inspection documentation.
  • Communicate professionally with customers and service teams about equipment issues and repair plans.
  • Follow all safety procedures and keep work areas clean and organized.
  • Continually developing skills through training and hands‑on experience.
  • Collaborate with other technicians and departments to ensure timely quality repairs and customer satisfaction.
  • May assist with machine evaluations, equipment testing, and fabrication tasks depending on shop needs.
