About The Position

The Shop Technician I Rental performs maintenance, repairs, and rebuilding of Caterpillar and allied equipment under limited supervision in the Rental Department.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Previous mechanical experience in the given industry/division.
• Must be able to read and comprehend repair manuals.
• Must have shop required hand tools.
• Ability to use micrometer and other testing tools.

Responsibilities

• Performs work assignments on all types of Caterpillar and allied equipment.
• Lifts parts and equipment components that weigh no more than 50 pounds.
• Operates and moves equipment being repaired in and out of shop service bays.
• Inputs accurate Service Reports, reads and comprehends blueprints, technical data and service manuals.
• May be required to possess a Commercial Driver's License based on department operational needs.
• Performs assigned shop repairs on CAT and allied equipment in a timely and efficient manner.
• Uses proper test equipment to troubleshoot for needed repairs.
• Projects a positive company image with fellow employees, customers, and management; complies with company dress code.
• Keeps work area clean and orderly; follows all work safety rules and procedures.
• Ensures accuracy of work orders by charging parts and labor to proper work order segments.
• Owns and maintains sufficient hand tools to perform the job.
• May be required to work overtime if needed.
• Performs other duties as necessary and assigned.
