About The Position

The Shop Technician/Delivery position at HCI Construction involves performing various tasks related to the repair and maintenance of company tools, equipment, vehicles, and facilities. The role includes providing equipment and material deliveries while tracking and reporting inventory locations and services needed or performed. The technician will maintain the shop and laydown yards, assist in scheduling as needed, and participate in general construction activities. This position requires a general understanding of construction practices and the ability to take direction and carry out job duties effectively.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1-3 years of experience in a related area preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and insurable under company insurance provider/program.
• Possess a Class A and B CDL.
• Ability to stand for long periods and regularly lift at least 75 pounds, occasionally up to 100 pounds.
• Knowledge of construction tools and products, and delivery procedures.
• Ability to understand verbal and written instructions.
• Ability to fabricate, including welding and cutting.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintain company tools, equipment, vehicles, and facilities.
• Provide inspection of company vehicles and equipment, reporting any damage.
• Deliver supplies and equipment to job sites, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
• Receive orders and identify them for job and delivery.
• Assist in maintaining tool inventory and tracking inventory locations.
• Assist field workers in day-to-day construction tasks as needed.
• Follow OSHA safety regulations and maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Regularly attend company safety training sessions.
