Shop Team Lead - Weekends
About The Position
For over 100 years, Maguire has been an industry leader in the fabrication, construction, and maintenance of water storage tanks and elevated water towers. The Shop Team Lead provides leadership, mentoring and overall team oversight for production operations team including welders, operators, laborers, production scheduling, and continuous improvement. Essential Functions: Interprets engineering specifications, prints and job orders to workers and assigns jobs between areas Assign personnel to efficiently produce items being built Confer with supervisors and other leaders to coordinate operations and activities within or between shifts and other functional areas Provides guidance and expert advice on technical, systems, or process- related topics Enforces safety procedures and guide lines, and housekeeping practices Identifies training needs, and conducts training in equipment operations or work and safety procedures Observes technical performance of the area staff and provides on the spot guidance Drive operational improvements and efficiencies to streamline production process Participate fully in our quality initiatives and attend training and complete assessments as required Positions heavy fabricated metal components in fit-up jigs and weld fixtures utilizing overhead cranes Operates robotic and manual weld machines Operate heavy equipment such as skid loaders, bobcats, forklifts, etc. The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed and not an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, duties, and skills required of team members. Requirements
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to listen, understand and follow directions.
- Flexibility to work in various manufacturing areas as requested.
- Ability to understand and perform all jobs of personnel being assigned.
Nice To Haves
- 1 year of supervisory experience strongly preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
