About The Position

Teach students correct use and safety of shop equipment. Understanding working, drawing, designing and building furniture. Able to plan class assignments and projects for all classes. Teaching team work to successfully complete projects in a timely manner. Responsible for inventory of all shop supplies and items. Responsible for submitting supply requisitions for items needed during the budget year. Maintaining the upkeep and safety of the shop. Sharing and promoting products made by the students. Assigning projects to students and keeping up with their work projects for grade credits.

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED.
• Minimum 21 years of age.
• Knowledge of woodworking, carpentry and basic welding.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact and deal effectively with youth, employees and the public.
• The ability to organize and prioritize own work.
• Valid Texas Driver's License.

Nice To Haves

• Vocational teaching experience preferred but not required.
