About The Position

Mercedes-Benz of Wilsonville’s Slate Upfitting Shop is seeking a Shop Support Technician to help keep our van build operation running efficiently. This is an entry-level role designed for someone who wants to start a career in the automotive or skilled trades industry. You’ll support our builders by preparing materials, staging parts, and maintaining shop readiness — while gaining exposure to how Mercedes-Benz Sprinter vans are transformed into RVIA-certified builds. No prior van conversion experience required. We hire for attitude, reliability, and mechanical aptitude — and train the rest. This role is critical to keeping our production shop running smoothly. You’ll support skilled technicians by ensuring parts are ready when needed, tools and materials are organized, and workstations are prepared for efficient builds. This position is also a direct pathway into a Van Build Technician (Tech I) role for high performers.

Requirements

• Strong reliability and punctuality (non-negotiable)
• Ability to follow written instructions and processes
• Mechanical aptitude and interest in hands-on work
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs regularly
• Comfortable working on your feet for full shifts
• Team-oriented with a strong work ethic

Responsibilities

• Supporting shop operations and build readiness
• Stage parts and materials for upcoming builds
• Prepare and organize tools and workstations
• Assist technicians with build tasks as needed
• Maintain clean, organized work areas
• Move parts, components, and materials throughout the shop
• Receive and organize incoming inventory
• Ensure builders have what they need to stay productive
• Follow written procedures and shop processes
• Support workflow to keep builds on schedule
• Maintain safety and organization standards
