This mechanic position demonstrates the ability to perform basic inspections, basic diagnoses, and basic repairs of diesel-powered heavy equipment and/or related equipment or components, following established procedures and guidelines. Works as a member of a team to provide basic mechanical services that satisfy customer needs and achieve departmental goals. Entry-level position - Generally has less than two years of experience and/or demonstrated job-relevant knowledge/skills. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job; works under immediate supervision. Essential Functions: Models, promotes, reinforces, and rewards the consistent use of HOLT's Values-Based Leadership (VBL) tools, models, and processes to ensure alignment with our Vision, Values, and Mission Performs basic disassembly and assembly of machine components to the manufacturer's specifications through the use of hand tools, pneumatic tools, and any specialized tooling Assists in the rebuilding, repairing, reconditioning, and maintaining of equipment and components Demonstrates good customer relations and support; communicates customer needs to shop management Learns how to plan equipment and component repairs Learns how to complete parts orders and identify parts for return Maintains all equipment and work areas - keeps in good, clean, and orderly condition Completes all documents associated with repairs in a timely manner Works safely at all times and adheres to all applicable safety policies; complies with all company policies, procedures, and standards Works overtime as required by workload and customers' needs Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, e.g., ProTech Technician Training Paths Requires regular and punctual employee attendance Performs other duties as assigned
