About The Position

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Shop Pipe Fitter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in fitting, tacking pipe, grooving, and threading various types of pipes to prepare them for welding in a shop setting. As a Shop Pipe Fitter, you will work with blueprints, drawings, and schematics to fabricate piping systems according to project specifications. Requirements

• Proven experience as a Pipe Fitter, with strong knowledge of pipe fitting techniques and materials.
• Proficient in fitting, butt welding, grooving, and threading pipes of various sizes and types.
• Strong understanding of blueprint reading and ability to follow detailed instructions.
• Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and pipe-fitting machines.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Ability to lift and maneuver materials and equipment.
• Knowledge of safety protocols and commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.

Responsibilities

• Fit, cut, and align butt-weld pipes, ensuring precise measurements and proper alignment.
• Thread pipes accurately using threading machines or hand tools, ensuring proper size and thread quality.
• Perform pipe grooving using appropriate equipment for different pipe sizes and materials.
• Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics to plan and execute pipe fitting tasks.
• Use welding techniques (if required) to weld pipe joints and ensure secure connections.
• Test completed pipe systems for leaks or other issues, addressing any defects as needed.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment by adhering to safety regulations and proper tool usage.
• Work closely with other team members to ensure efficient workflow and project completion.
