About The Position

Rogers Group is currently seeking a candidate to fill a Mechanic position in the Carolinas at the Greer, SC location. This position will perform repairs, routine maintenance, and inspections on a wide variety of asphalt related construction equipment and dump trucks. The applicant must have demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, diagnose and repair a wide range of service issues that affect major components such as engines, brake systems, transmissions, torque converters, hydraulic systems, drive train components, heating/cooling and electrical systems, as well as other systems generally encountered in the industry. Job Details: · Full Time · Day Shift- Night Shift/Weekend work may be required · Wages starting at $26.00/hr. · Must be willing to travel to other plants in the surrounding area.

Requirements

• Uncompromising focus on safety excellence and able to perform all duties under DOT regulations & company safety policies and practices.
• Minimum of three years of experience working on construction equipment and on-road trucks.
• Ability to stoop, push, kneel, twist and lift 70lbs.
• Ability to climb and perform work on heights of 20 feet
• Able to work in all kinds of weather conditions.
• Able to develop working relationships with other employees and vendors.

Nice To Haves

• Experience performing DOT Annual Inspections preferred
• A valid Class B CDL with a hazmat and tanker endorsement is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Inspect machines for abnormalities or defects.
• Perform routine scheduled maintenance on construction equipment and dump trucks.
• Perform “on-site” and “in-field” maintenance and repairs on paving equipment, when needed.
• Complete maintenance and work order repair records.
• Be able to weld and fabricate, as needed.
• Heavy equipment parts familiarization including parts catalogs, procurement, handling, storage, and cost of heavy equipment parts.
• Perform housekeeping duties and work area checks.
• Ability to operate mobile equipment.
• Operate a company vehicle on public highways and job sites.
• Capable of working with limited supervision and scheduling own work.
