Job Summary: Our Oceana warehouse is the logistics center for everything that comes in from vendors, then goes out to crews working for our customers, as well as maintaining machines and fabricating many critical pieces of equipment they use. The Heavy Equipment Mechanic is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of various types of heavy equipment, including walking excavators, excavators, and drills.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in heavy equipment maintenance and repair
  • Strong mechanical background with experience in diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems
  • Ability to use diagnostic tools and equipment to troubleshoot problems
  • Capable of reading and interpreting equipment manuals and schematics
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work well in a team setting
  • Valid Driver's License preferred
  • Must be able to reliably commute or must relocate to this area before starting work
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform manual labor tasks.
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods.
  • Must be able to work in a shop environment with varying temperature conditions.
  • Exposure to heavy equipment and machinery (PPE required)

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance on heavy equipment, including oil changes, tune-ups, and inspections
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical problems
  • Repair and replace faulty parts or components
  • Conduct preventive maintenance on equipment to minimize downtime
  • Perform major repairs or overhauls on equipment as needed
  • Keep accurate records of maintenance and repair work performed
  • Communicate effectively with other team members
