About The Position
The Shop Mechanic is a hybrid role ideal for individuals with strong mechanical aptitude and foundational knowledge of engineering principles. This position is responsible for performing diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on construction trucks, trailers, heavy equipment, and jobsite machinery—both in the field and in the company shop. The ideal candidate will be equally comfortable troubleshooting hands-on mechanical issues as they are interpreting equipment specifications and design-related adjustments. This role is essential to ensuring equipment reliability, operational safety, and regulatory compliance with DOT, OSHA, and Florida labor standards. The mechanic plays a critical part in minimizing equipment downtime, supporting fleet readiness, and optimizing overall operational efficiency across field and shop settings.
