About The Position

The Shop Mechanic Intermediate performs maintenance, repair, and refurbishment of equipment at an assigned shop, working under general direction from leadership. This role involves collaborating with others on Preventative Maintenance (PM), Major Maintenance (MM), and Overhauls. The individual is expected to maintain a safe and organized work environment, complete required documentation accurately and timely, and adhere to the company's Health Safety and Environmental Policy and all relevant regulations. The position also involves problem-solving, identifying opportunities for improvement, and potentially mentoring less experienced mechanics.

Requirements

  • Ability to perform all essential duties.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in accurately and efficiently diagnosing and repairing mechanical problems on multiple compressor configurations.
  • Show track record of performing Preventative Maintenance (PM) with no guidance.
  • Perform Major Maintenance (MM) and Overhauls as part of a team.
  • Demonstrate customer service skills.
  • Read, write and speak English and /or fully understand daily work instructions (work orders, manuals, etc).
  • Model all health, safety and environmental procedures.
  • Complete and submit company required documentation in an accurate and timely fashion.
  • Knowledge of gas engines and compressors, electrical systems, basic understanding of panel boards, skid wiring, etc. through Performance verification.
  • Knowledge of new technologies.
  • Working knowledge of relevant HSE procedures and regulations.
  • Generally understands all processes and systems on how a compressor works.
  • Typically at least 3 years’ experience with natural gas engines and compressor.

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Gas or diesel engine and compressor school / training.
