About The Position

The Shop Mechanic 1 at MGB Manufacturing, LLC is responsible for performing maintenance and repair tasks on machinery, equipment, and vehicles within the shop. This role requires an individual with basic mechanical skills who can assist with inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs under the supervision of more experienced mechanics. The Shop Mechanic 1 plays a critical role in ensuring the proper functioning and safety of all equipment used in manufacturing processes.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Technical or vocational training in mechanics or a related field is preferred.
Basic understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
Experience with basic hand and power tools.
Ability to lift heavy equipment and work in physically demanding environments.
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Good communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and minor repairs on manufacturing equipment, tools, and vehicles.
Assist in diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues in various equipment.
Replace worn-out or defective parts and components such as hoses, belts, filters, etc.
Keep records of all maintenance work, inspections, and repairs completed in the shop.
Follow safety guidelines and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
Assist with the installation of new equipment and machinery as required.
Report any major repairs needed to the Shop Supervisor or Maintenance Manager.
Support senior mechanics and collaborate with the team to resolve mechanical problems.
Use appropriate hand and power tools for repairs and maintenance tasks.
Adhere to MGB Manufacturing’s standards of quality and safety in all work performed.
