About The Position

J&A Glass is seeking a motivated and dependable individual to fill the role of Shop Manager. This is a full-time position, with a competitive starting wage and opportunities for advancement within the company.

Requirements

Commercial Storefront Fabrication and Glass Cutting experience preferred but not required.
Comfort using technology as well as power tools and fabrication equipment.
1-2 years of basic construction or warehouse labor experience
Valid ID and driver's license free of major accidents and DUIs
Must be 18 years of age or older.
Ability to lift up to 70 pounds.
Must be punctual, dependable, and have a positive attitude.
Quickly trained for forklift license.
Ability to read and interpret shop drawings and fabrication sheets.
Must be willing to work in all weather conditions and travel to work sites out of the area as needed.
A job for which military experienced candidates are encouraged to apply.
Open to applicants who do not have a high school diploma/GED or college diploma.
An excellent job for someone just entering the workforce or returning to the workforce with limited experience and education.

Responsibilities

Manage shipping and receiving by coordinating with project managers and suppliers.
Manage warehouse associates, monitoring work and ensuring the safe use of warehouse equipment.
Maintain warehouse equipment and ensure maintenance of fleet vehicles.
Assist in the fabrication of storefront, curtain wall, and doors.
Learn to cut and fabricate glass and mirrors to train future shop hands.
Clean and organize shop areas as needed.
Utilize a forklift and manual labor to load, offload, and deliver materials to work sites.
Assist with brake metal fabrication.
Identify and report issues with work material.
Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
