We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Shop Manager (Equipment and Fleet). In this role, you will oversee fleet maintenance, equipment repair, and shop operations to ensure optimal performance and support for branch activities. Requirements

  • A professional with a minimum of 5+ years repair experience with mowers, small engines, 2 cycle equipment, utility vehicles trucks, trailers, and, if applicable, snow equipment.
  • Must possess a strong mechanical skillset including knowledge of basic electrical systems, hydraulic systems, mower technology and engines, both gasoline and diesel
  • Intermediate automotive repair experience
  • A team player with good communication abilities: must be adept at fostering communication between branch management, account management and crew leaders
  • Strong organization skills-strength in record keeping, shop cleanliness, inventory and parts ordering, desire to stay proactive and not reactive as it applies to preventative maintenance and repairs
  • Must have own tools
  • High school diploma with additional technical certifications is a plus
  • Intermediate computer skills, a valid driver's license, and a clean driving record
  • Ability to life 30-50 pounds

Nice To Haves

  • Prior shop management experience preferred
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus

Responsibilities

  • Operate safely and ensure the shop is maintained in a clean, orderly manner
  • Supervise and ensure documentation of maintenance and repair of all equipment and fleet, including trucks, trailers, tractors, small engines, and, if applicable, snow equipment
  • Quality control on repairs to the fleet and equipment
  • Schedule preventative maintenance to the fleet and equipment and communicate preventative maintenance schedule to managers
  • Maintain/update software on vehicles or repairs
  • Maintain a working parts and supply inventory, including oils, fluids, tools, and parts.
  • Maintain contacts with vendors and qualify new vendors that may be added
  • Cost and analysis on fleet and equipment repairs; managing the shop's budget, maintaining compliance with monthly targets
  • Assist the Branch Manager in procurement of budget line item and equipment
  • Communicate effectively with vendors, managers, crew leaders, and internal teams
  • If in a snow market: dispatch emergency service calls during snow operations; ensure equipment reliability before and during storms
