This position ensures that all containers, equipment, vehicles, and tools are properly maintained, repaired, and ready for use. The Shop Lead serves as the link between the maintenance team and management-coordinating workflow, assigning tasks, monitoring quality, and promoting a safe, efficient, and well-organized work environment. This role requires strong technical knowledge of construction equipment, hands-on mechanical skills, some welding skills and proven leadership ability to guide other co workers, while maintaining high standards for safety, productivity, and performance The Shop Lead will be grinding, sanding, welding and painting, and any other mechanical duties assigned by the branch manager. Roll the floors (paint) scrape and sticker, roll the roofs and power wash. "Annual opportunity of $49,920- $52,000/ year, based on hourly wages."

  • Lead, coordinate, and prioritize daily shop activities to ensure all repairs and maintenance tasks are completed efficiently and safely.
  • Perform hands-on diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance on our container, welding, trucks, trailers, and tools.
  • Serve as the main point of contact between the shop, field supervisors, and operations regarding equipment status and repair needs.
  • Monitor repair quality and ensure all work meets company safety, compliance, and performance standards.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, including work orders, service records, parts usage, and daily logs.
  • Oversee inventory of parts, supplies, and shop tools; assist in ordering or restocking as needed.
  • Train, mentor, and support technicians and new shop staff in proper repair techniques and safety practices.
  • Ensure the shop environment remains clean, organized, and compliant with all safety and environmental regulations.
  • Identify equipment issues, recurring problems, or improvement opportunities and communicate them to management.
  • Collaborate with supervisors on scheduling equipment downtime and coordinating major repairs or outsourced services.

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical school or vocational training in mechanics, welding, or related fields preferred but not required.
  • 3-5 years of experience working in a shop, maintenance, or equipment repair environment.
  • Background in construction, fabrication, welding, or industrial settings is strongly preferred.
  • Some welding experience (MIG, TIG, or stick) with the ability to perform basic fabrication, repairs, and modifications.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with experience servicing or repairing equipment, containers, vehicles, or industrial tools.
  • Previous lead or senior technician experience preferred; ability to guide, train, and support other team members.
  • Ability to read and understand technical diagrams, repair manuals, and work orders.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols, OSHA standards, and shop best practices.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with attention to detail and quality.
  • Basic computer skills for completing work orders, logging repairs, and tracking parts inventory.
  • Valid driver's license; CDL is a plus but not required.
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs. and work in a shop environment with physical demands.
