About The Position

Aviation Shop Helper assists licensed mechanics by performing entry-level tasks like cleaning/detailing aircraft, organizing tools/parts, prepping components (sanding, scrubbing), supporting disassembly/reassembly, maintaining shop cleanliness, and documenting basic activities, all while strictly following FAA safety regulations and company procedures to ensure efficient, safe aircraft maintenance and provide a pathway to learn advanced skills.

Requirements

  • Mechanical Aptitude: Basic understanding of mechanical principles and tools.
  • Attention to Detail: Crucial for cleaning, prepping, and following procedures.
  • Work Ethic: Self-motivated, reliable, and able to work in a team.
  • Communication: Strong ability to work with mechanics and other personnel.

Responsibilities

  • Cleaning & Detailing: Washing, scrubbing, polishing aircraft exteriors, interiors, and components (windows, fuselage, floors).
  • FOD: Assists with FOD cleanup efforts to include FOD walks, vacuuming, and hanger floor sweeping.
  • Ground Support Equipment: Participates in GSE inspections.
  • Preparation: Sanding, prepping parts, organizing tools, and setting up work areas for mechanics.
  • Support Tasks: Assisting with the removal, installation, disassembly, and reassembly of aircraft parts.
  • Shop Maintenance: Keeping the hangar and shop area clean, organized, and stocked with supplies.
  • Inventory: Monitoring part levels and reporting shortages.
  • Documentation: Updating maintenance records and completing basic paperwork.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhering to all FAA and company safety policies.

  • Salary at MAG Aerospace is determined by various factors including but not limited to location, particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements.
  • The projected compensation range for this position is $44000 to $66000 (annualized USD).
  • The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of MAG's total compensation package for employees.
