About The Position

The Shop Helper supports the day-to-day operations of the shop by assisting with the maintenance, organization, and cleanliness of tools, materials, and equipment. This role plays a vital part in ensuring our crews are well-equipped and prepared for field operations. Essential Functions: · Assist with the loading and unloading of tools, equipment, and materials for field crews. · Clean, inspect, and perform minor maintenance on tools and equipment. · Keep the shop, storage areas, and yard clean and organized. · Support shop personnel and field crews with tool preparation and staging. · Conduct regular inventory counts; track tool check-in/check-out. · Dispose of scrap materials and debris in accordance with safety and environmental standards. · Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment. · Follow all safety procedures and always wear appropriate PPE. · Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, or other material handling equipment. · Deliver tools or materials to job sites as needed. · Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Previous experience in a shop, warehouse, or construction environment preferred but not required.
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50 lbs).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply the appropriate sections of applicable laws, guidelines, regulations, ordinances, and policies.
  • Ability to acquire a thorough understanding of the organization’s hierarchy, jobs, qualifications, compensation practices, and the administrative practices related to those factors.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Nice To Haves
