The Shop Hand position is essential for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the shop and yard. This role involves a variety of daily, weekly, semi-monthly, and monthly tasks aimed at ensuring a safe and efficient working environment. The Shop Hand will be responsible for performing building and yard maintenance, which includes dumping trash, patrolling the yard for debris, and inspecting company and customer vehicles to ensure they are locked at the end of each shift. The position requires a proactive approach to maintaining the shop's cleanliness and organization, which is crucial for operational efficiency. Daily responsibilities include dumping trash in the main building and shop perimeter, as well as inspecting the yard for any signs of tampering or debris. Weekly tasks involve cleaning and organizing shop tool lockers, emptying steel trash bins, and wiping down oil tanks and portable grease dispensers. The Shop Hand will also be responsible for organizing steel bins and cleaning hardware bins, particularly in the Las Vegas location. Semi-monthly duties include cleaning and degreasing equipment and vehicles, while monthly responsibilities involve steam cleaning forklifts and pressure washing display bodies. In addition to these scheduled tasks, the Shop Hand may be required to perform various duties as needed, such as picking up and delivering parts, detailing trucks, and assisting technicians. This position does not have any direct supervisory responsibilities, but it requires strong communication, organizational, and time management skills to effectively manage the diverse range of tasks.
