About The Position

The general role for the shop and field technician is to ensure the proper preparation for and execution of fieldwork and coordination of the field activities.

Requirements

  • Degree in Engineering (Mechanical or relevant) plus 3 years of operation planning experience
  • Experience in Oil and Gas sector, preferably with ILI exposure
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull heavy equipment and machinery.
  • Standing, bending, and kneeling for extended periods.
  • Good social skills with the ability to communicate clearly
  • Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
  • Computer skills in Microsoft word, excel and outlook at an intermediate level
  • Fluency in English, the language of the Territory is an advantage
  • Ability to travel extensively in the US and globally

  • Follow PIPECARE’s Process Flow Charts and interact with other departments when required
  • Assure timely and accurate reporting to PIPECARE
  • Identify training requirements
  • Review and analyze project documentation, operation manuals, pigging procedures, and other related materials.
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with the client's field and project management teams, fostering positive working relations.
  • Coordinate field activities between the PIPECARE team, other contractors, clients, and all involved parties.
  • Assemble, prepare, pack, and transport ILI tools and auxiliary equipment to and from the project site.
  • Calibrate, verify calibration, inspect, and test inspection equipment prior to mobilization.
  • Conduct thorough pre- and post-run inspections of ILI tools to ensure proper functionality and adherence to operational standards.
  • Complete tool preparation, checklists, project procedures, and job safety analysis documentation.
  • Provide support and service during equipment setup, tool launching, and receiving
  • Launch, track, and receive ILI tools, clean, and re-pack equipment after each run.
  • Operate hand/power tools, hoists, forklifts, cranes, and other required equipment.
  • Perform troubleshooting and repairs of ILI tools, AGMs, transmitters, receivers, and other related equipment.
  • Verify the quality of ILI and AGM data, generate, review, and submit field and other reports in a timely manner.
  • Disassemble, clean, and maintain cleaning, gauging, ILI, and other tools and equipment post-project.
  • Promote and maintain a safe and professional work environment, executing fieldwork in a safe, effective, and efficient manner in line with PIPECARE QA/QC procedures and project timelines.
  • Participate in training as needed and assist junior field technicians with their training and professional development.
  • Conduct site and DGPs surveys in accordance with PIPECARE Group procedures and operational requirements.
  • Maintain an organized inventory of spare parts, tools, and equipment necessary for seamless field operations.
  • Document all maintenance activities to ensure detailed records for quality control and continuous process improvement.
  • Exercise stop-work authority when encountering unsafe conditions or behaviors that may lead to incidents or accidents.
  • Perform additional duties within the scope of the assigned role.
