Shop Fabricator/Welder
About The Position
Typical Duties Fabricate ductwork, air distribution accessories and associated equipment for commercial, industrial and institutional heating and air conditioning work. Locate, measure and outline installation areas from construction drawings. Drill holes, attach brackets, hangers and other holding devices. Fabricate complex fittings and ductwork for fabrication. Assist with moving, loading, unloading and distribution of material and parts. Set equipment such as coils, fans, and humidifiers. Operate equipment such as shears, press brakes, sheet rollers, hem saws, plasma cutters, grinders, etc. Be able to work overtime when needed (evenings and weekends).
Requirements
- Must have ability to weld to a qualified procedure using GMAW (MIG), and GTAW (TIG)
- Minimum 2 years metal fabrication experience
- Ability to read and understand blueprints
- A MIG and TIG weld test on stainless, carbon, galvanized and aluminum will be required at interview
- Able to use hand tools, man lifts, platform lifts, forklifts, rigging and erecting equipment
- Able to do material take-offs / cut list
- Ability to follow detailed instructions
- Can-do attitude
