Performs a variety of skilled and semi-skilled duties as needed to maintain a clean, operational, attractive, and safe environment. Key Responsibilities Ability to learn the materials, methods, and practices used in cleaning operations. Ability to learn the operation and care of vacuum cleaners, scrubbers, waxing and polishing machines, and other janitorial equipment. Ability to understand and follow simple oral and written instructions. Ability to exercise care in the use of cleaning materials for different types of building surfaces. Minor maintenance and equipment repair abilities are a plus. Other duties as may be assigned. Physical Demands Standing/Walking 90% Lifting 10% (overhead, arm’s length up to 20 lbs., up to 100 lbs. with assistance) Bending 35% Pushing/Pulling 50% Climbing 5% The environment may be outdoors, with varying temperatures. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Ability to perform assigned duties under frequent time pressure in an interruptive or confined environment. Knowledge of safety guidelines, answering all calls promptly, and maintaining politeness, always paying attention to the needs of guests. Ability to use a vacuum cleaner, hand tools, ladders, and a shop vacuum.
