About The Position

North American Rail Solutions (NARS) is seeking a talented and reliable part time Shop Assistant to join our team. The Shop Assistant will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and organization of the shop yard, and performing maintenance on company vehicles equipment, and trailers. Our ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Previous experience in a similar role preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and organization skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Knowledge of vehicle repair.
• Ability to follow instructions.
• Ability to multitask effectively.
• Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize work.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Ensures Shop Yard space is organized, cleaned, and well-maintained.
• Ensures company equipment appearance is clean and company logos are prominently placed.
• Performs cleaning of interior and exterior of company vehicles and trailers in compliance will all company standards.
• Inspects and performs weekly maintenance on company vehicles, such as but not limited to, checking fluids, tire pressure, refueling…etc.
• Operates company vehicles to and from job sites and suppliers to load and unload materials and parts.
• Works on jobsites according to customer demand and business needs.
• Assists with inventory management.
• Must follow all safety procedures and guidelines.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
