The role will be responsible for maintenance, repairs and rebuilding components on equipment at McCann shops in a safe, efficient and capable manner, using the least number of labor hours necessary, while minimizing rework. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED; and one to three years experience on the job /or training.
  • Interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instruction, and procedure manuals
  • Prepare routine reports and correspondence
  • Basic mathematic skills-add, subtract, multiply, divide and able to compute basic high school algebraic equations
  • Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

Responsibilities

  • Performs service tasks; keep current of all changes in various models of equipment sold and serviced by the company
  • Report each job at the end of the shift as to repairs completed, repairs remaining with an approximate time frame to complete, parts on back order, problems encountered and any additional repairs found.
  • Advise supervisor as to any additional repairs needed using the mechanics repair estimate form so management can contact customer for approval
  • Keep immediate shop area clean and orderly and report any hazards that may effect safe working conditions; stay informed regarding machine parts in warranty so the removed parts can be tagged and retained for warranty
  • Return tools to proper tool room storage area at the end of each shift in a clean condition ready for reuse.
  • Notify the Service Manager or Shop Foreman when the tool needs repairing or constitutes a hazard
  • Maintain current service bulletins and parts literature
  • Maintain the appropriate company image of dedicated service
  • Utilize every opportunity to attend service schools and training sessions to increase knowledge and expertise.
