About The Position

At TJX Companies, the Shoe Department Lead is responsible for executing receiving and merchandising standards, ensuring efficient processing by Associates, and fostering teamwork. This role is crucial for delivering an excellent customer experience through direct engagement and maintaining a clean, organized store environment. The Lead also plays a key part in promoting a positive culture, upholding honesty and integrity, and ensuring confidentiality. Responsibilities

  • Executing receiving and merchandising standards while ensuring Associates are processing efficiently and effectively, and working as a team
  • Ensuring an excellent customer experience by engaging and interacting with all customers, and maintaining a clean and organized store
  • Role modeling exceptional customer service
  • Creating a positive internal and external customer experience
  • Promoting a culture of honesty and integrity; maintaining confidentiality
  • Orchestrating truck delivery, prioritizing the processing of merchandise onto the sales floor
  • Training and mentoring Associates on established merchandising and processing principles
  • Ensuring merchandise is properly tagged, hung, secured, and coded
  • Communicating with the Coordinator on Duty to ensure efficient flow of goods to sales floor
  • Ensuring Associates complete tasks and activities according to store plan; prioritizes as needed
  • Monitoring productivity of team and coaches as necessary
  • Organizing and rotating back stock for easy replenishment
  • Maintaining and upholding merchandising philosophy and signage standards
  • Maintaining all organizational, cleanliness and recovery standards for the backroom area
  • Ensuring compliance with recycling and, where applicable, hazardous waste programs
  • Communicating accurately and effectively with management and Associates when setting and addressing priorities; provides progress updates
  • Providing and accepting recognition and constructive feedback
  • Partnering with Management on Associate training needs to increase effectiveness
  • Ensuring adherence to all labor laws, policies, and procedures
  • Promoting credit and loyalty programs
  • Supporting and participating in store shrink reduction goals and programs
  • Promoting safety awareness and maintains a safe environment
  • Other duties as assigned
