About The Position

Eaton’s EPG CHD EP Americas division is currently seeking a Shipping - 1st Shift. Roanoke, VA facility operates under Eaton's Electrical Sector providing products for Data Centers, Commercial Customers, Mining and Food & Beverage.​ The core hours are 7:00am to 3:30pm. The hourly rate for this position is $20.78 per hour. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. The shipper prepares products for shipment and keeps record of outgoing products. Shippers will track packages through use of RF (Radio Frequency) units. Shippers must maintain a safe work environment, and meet quality standards for packaging materials.

Requirements

  • Must have a high school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.

  • No relocation benefit is offered for this position. Only candidates residing within the immediate area of Roanoke, VA (50 miles) will be considered for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Lift products manually to place them on to pallet
  • Communicate with coworkers to share expertise
  • Follow safety procedures for equipment to reduce potential for accidents
  • Examine products to ensure damaged products are not shipped
  • Lift products to place them on to shelves
  • Use box cutters to cut packaging materials
  • Monitor equipment to ensure proper functioning
  • Lift products to place them into boxes
  • Communicate with supervisors to resolve conflicts
  • Understand quota requirements to accomplish expected production level
  • Use RF (Radio Frequency) units to scan barcodes
