About The Position

The position involves operating a forklift in a safe and responsible manner, adhering to all operational and safety rules and guidelines provided during forklift license training. The operator will be responsible for transporting finished goods and raw materials, loading and unloading semi-trailers, and maintaining inventory information through scanning and logging. The role requires effective communication with supervisors and co-workers, as well as assisting other departments as needed. The operator must also evaluate and maintain a safe work environment, inspect work areas for unsafe conditions, and perform cleaning and sorting duties as necessary.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• Obtain or be able to obtain a forklift driver's license
• Possess proficient mathematic and grammar skills
• Able to lift and load containers of boxes as required up to 50lbs
• Good verbal and organizational skills
• Cognitive and mental ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail

Responsibilities

• Operate a Forklift in a safe and responsible manner
• Read and understand all operational and safety rules and guidelines provided during forklift license training
• Operate both fork and clamp attachments
• Transport finished goods and raw materials as directed
• Load and unload semi-trailers and complete the necessary paperwork and communications as directed
• Understand and use all scanning equipment required to perform job
• Maintain and update status of inventory information through scans, written or logged as necessary
• Lift and carry containers as needed
• Lift and carry packaging such as pallets, shrink-wrap etc. as needed
• Communicate in a professional manner with supervisor, coordinators & co-workers as necessary
• Assist other departments as needed
• Perform other duties as directed
• Evaluate and take appropriate action to maintain a safe work environment with established standards and guidelines
• Inspect work areas and look for unsafe acts/conditions
• Effectively use verbal and written communications
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment
• Perform sweeping cleaning, sorting duties as necessary
• Perform all duties in accordance with safety rules and procedures
