About The Position

Eaton’s ES AMER ARS division is currently seeking a Shipping Technician, 1st Shift. The rate for this position is $20.00 per hour. The hours are Monday through Friday from 7:30 am until 3:30 pm. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. What you’ll do: The Receiving Clerk is responsible for unloading incoming shipments and verifying materials against purchase orders. This role includes inspecting deliveries for damage or discrepancies, accurately updating inventory records, and ensuring materials are properly stored. The clerk maintains complete and accurate receiving documentation, coordinates the return of unsatisfactory shipments, and collaborates with internal teams to support inventory and production needs. This position is essential to maintaining an efficient and reliable flow of materials within the manufacturing process.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.

Nice To Haves

  • 6 months of industrial manufacturing experience
  • 6 months of experience operating a powered industrial vehicle (e.g., forklift)
  • 6 months of experience using hand and pneumatic (air) tools

Responsibilities

  • Unload incoming shipments and verify contents against purchase orders and invoices using scanners and supply chain tracking systems.
  • Inspect materials for damage, discrepancies, or nonconformance; document issues, initiate returns, and notify supervision of special or non-standard conditions.
  • Accurately receive, store, and maintain inventory records, including signing receiving paperwork, processing invoices, and completing daily closeout activities.
  • Ensure proper material storage, accurate counts, and sustain 5S+ standards while complying with all environmental, health, and safety requirements.
  • Perform visual quality inspections, troubleshoot errors, support root cause analysis, and proactively identify process improvement opportunities.
  • Respond to change notices, customer requests, and development needs impacting materials or production requirements.
  • Use material-handling equipment to move products and supplies; assist shipping, storeroom, and warehouse associates with crating, boxing, and staging.
  • Communicate daily pass-down information across shifts and collaborate with other departments to meet inventory and production needs.
  • Safely lift, carry, push, or pull materials using proper lift-assist methods (up to 40 lbs lifting and up to 100 lbs pushing/pullingwith or without accomodation).
