The Electrification and Automation (EA) Business Unit offers the full range of energy distribution systems and solutions for all markets and through all sales channels. We provide reliable power distribution grids of today while investing into our Future Grids portfolio and applications to create the power distribution grid of the future. We are looking for a Shipping Team Lead for 1st shift. This position will be based at our Wendell, NC location.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience working in the shipping department of a manufacturing plant.
  • 3+ years’ experience with Forklifts (Reach truck, sit down, Cherry pickers).
  • Proficient in using SAP – ERP system and RF Devices.
  • Must be able to lift parts or sub-assemblies that weigh up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
  • Basic proficiency in English, including reading, writing, and speaking.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and resolve conflict in a professional manner.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing setting or a related position.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment within the United States without the need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization.

Nice To Haves

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Experience with 5S/6S.
  • Problem solving (A3, 8D, etc).

Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of shipping.
  • Handle inbound materials, auditing, replenishment, and perform put-away and inventory tasks.
  • Safely operate a stand-up reach truck, stand-up order picker, sit-down forklift, and drive a Yard Jockey to position trailers for loading/unloading.
  • Accurately receive incoming materials, supplies, and products; verify shipments, inspect condition, file damage claims, and record received items per established procedures.
  • Maintain and manage inventory while ensuring adherence to 5S+, Lean principles and continuous process improvement.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement in processes and methods.
  • Participate in equipment/work area cleaning for safety and functionality.
  • Support new employee training and SAP system access setup.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Warehouse Manager.
