Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 5+ years of related experience in manufacturing

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field (preferred)
  • 3+ years of direct supervisory experience (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Monitors shipping and receiving activities to eliminate delays and ensure adherence to shipment schedules and customer delivery commitments
  • Assists in carrying out departmental objectives at the lowest cost, consistent with the organization’s quality and service requirements
  • Ensures safety, accuracy, and quality in shipping and receiving processes while identifying opportunities for process improvement
  • Coordinates workflow with production, warehouse, logistics, and customer service teams
  • Reports damaged or defective equipment, materials, and inventory issues to management
  • Trains employees on daily shipping, receiving, and material handling procedures
  • Maintains quality and quantity standards regarding inbound and outbound shipments
  • Analyzes shipping and receiving schedules to estimate labor needs and allocate resources effectively
  • Interprets work orders, shipping documents, and customer requirements, and assigns duties accordingly
  • Plans the flow of materials and finished goods through the department according to production and shipping requirements
  • Interfaces with internal teams and carriers to ensure customer deadlines are met
  • Inspects incoming and outgoing materials to verify accuracy and conformance to specifications and documentation
  • Directs employees in correcting shipping, labeling, packaging, or documentation issues
  • Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet shipping and receiving schedules
  • Develops, recommends, and implements measures to improve shipping methods, equipment performance, and accuracy
  • Suggests changes in working conditions and equipment use to increase department efficiency
  • Analyzes and resolves workflow and inventory issues, or assists employees in problem-solving
  • Maintains time, labor, and shipping/receiving records
  • Assists with justification and implementation of material handling equipment and process technology to improve quality, cost, and cycle times
  • Other duties as assigned
