About The Position

Upside Innovations is a fast-growing manufacturer of aluminum ramps, steps, canopies, OSHA steps, covered walkways and custom access products. We are seeking an experienced Shipping Supervisor to provide leadership and oversee all Shipping/Receiving and Logistics functions in a manufacturing and assembly warehouse environment. The Shipping Supervisor oversees all outbound shipping operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role ensures accurate, timely, and cost-effective shipment of finished goods while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and customer satisfaction. The Shipping Supervisor leads and develops the shipping team, coordinates with internal departments, and partners with Logistics Manager to support on-time project delivery.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in operations, logistics, leadership, and supply chain fundamentals preferred or equivalent combination of HS education with 3+ years of experience in a shipping/distribution leadership role.
3+ years of experience in shipping, logistics, or warehouse operations in a manufacturing environment.
1+ years of supervisory or team leadership experience.
Forklift and material handling experience.
Positive attitude, ability to be a team player and step in where needed.
Solid written and verbal communication skills.
Experience with MRP systems and Microsoft Office fluency.
Thrives in fast paced environment and handles changes in priority well.
Works comfortably under pressure.
Technical knowledge and a good understanding of production processes.
Ability to teach, guide and assist other employees as necessary.
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

Plans, schedules and coordinates departmental activities and employees to ensure sales order items are properly prepared and shipped on time and in full.
Creates work schedules for employees and prioritizes daily workload for all shipping team members.
Provides leadership and direction to maximize department efficiency while maintaining all company safety standards.
Responsible for interviewing, training and development of new and existing employees.
Implements policies, procedures and improvements in packaging and shipping processes to support departmental goals and objectives.
Monitors employee performance and assists with employee feedback and training.
Responsible for tracking employee attendance in accordance with the company attendance policy.
Communicates issues, schedules and actions real-time to PM’s, production, planning, etc.
Manages all shipping issues and coordinates corrective action to improve quality.
Help develop future shipping and receiving KPIs, dashboards, etc. to improve processes and efficiencies.
Evaluate packaging requirements for all products to better ensure damage free delivery of products.
