About The Position

The ideal candidate will have parcel/packing experience through e-commerce, provide leadership and direction to the Shipping Department in areas of responsibility including administration, shipping, scheduling work force, quality and safety.

Requirements

  • Must possess an associates degree or higher in business related field or equivalent experience
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds throughout the day
  • Minimum 2 years of direct supervisory experience and/or training

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • Monitors the workflow within the department to ensure timely delivery of customer orders.
  • Engages in the typical responsibilities of a supervisor requiring planning, evaluating, organizing, scheduling, integrating and delegating.
  • Monitors and manages all aspects of employee performance which includes training new employees and evaluating current employees to ensure training is up to date
  • Coordinates pickup schedule for various carriers.
  • Provides management of employees directly or through team lead to ensure effective selection, retention, development, disciplinary action and performance management.
  • Plans, directs, and coordinates the activities of the Shipping Department in an organized and safe work environment that is in compliance with the company’s policies and procedures.
  • Oversees incoming stock and supplies for department.
  • Ensures full compliance with all quality assurance standards, including good housekeeping and overall cleanliness of products and work areas.
  • Can operate all the department relevant equipment
  • At peak times we operate a 24/7 shipping operation; the proper candidate must be willing to supervise any one of the shifts to provide this coverage.
  • Supervise 40 employees during non-peak times and up to 300 temporary employees during peak times.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
