Position: Shipping Supervisor Job Summary Reports to Plant Manager and is responsible for the oversight of Shipping Department and the supervisory functions relating to planning, organizing, and leading a team to accurately load finished goods and other products to meet department objectives. Provides direct and indirect supervision over multiple shifts.

Requirements

Minimum five (5) years proven experience as a lead or production supervisor in a manufacturing environment
Comprehensive knowledge of raw and finished product specifications
Strong leadership skills
Excellent communication skills
Ability to work with minimum supervision - self starter
Strong interpersonal skills

Responsibilities

Ability to lead, motivate, and direct individuals and teams to meet stated company objectives in loading accuracy and productivity.
Provide performance feedback, positive encouragement, and issue discipline as needed.
Assign employees to correct location based on priorities and to prevent deviations from shipping schedules.
Provide root cause analysis for issues that arise during shift.
Report KPI's for their shift daily, and weekly, to plant management group.
Balance the level of labor cost and productivity requirements during assigned
Responsible for the motivation and development of subordinates to optimize their performance and personal
Maintains a high level of cleanliness and organization in the shipping and truck dock areas including the outside trailer apron.
Maintains a safe working environment including ensuring trailer wheel chocks and dock safety chains are in place and maintained in good condition.
Oversee other routine housekeeping as required.
Ensure and maintain accurate multisite warehouse inventories, reports, and correct any discrepancies.
Ensure all incoming shipments are processed and received in a timely manner.
Monitor raw material inventory and order raw materials as needed for production.
Performs any other tasks as may be assigned by the Plant Manager or Production Manager.
Assist in related department activities and perform related duties, as required.
