About The Position

We’re excited to be opening our new Kansas City facility and are looking for a Shipping Supervisor that provides leadership, guidance, and supervision of hourly shipping and receiving employees. The Shipping Supervisor contributes through value-added activities in quality improvement, efficiency enhancement, and process improvement.

Requirements

  • Two (2) + years in a leadership or supervisory role is preferred
  • Two (2) + years with manufacturing experience is preferred
  • Must have good oral and written communication skills and good math skills
  • Good decision-making and problem-solving skills are a must
  • Attention to detail while operating safely is a must
  • Must have the ability to multitask and work well under pressure
  • Basic administrative computer proficiency, to include email, required
  • Must be able to successfully pass the PIT certification, etc. to help determine fit for role
  • Excellent attendance is required
  • Meets harness and SRL (Self Retracting Lifeline) weight capacity limits (130 lbs. - 310 lbs.)
  • Ability to regularly lift up to 40 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Leading and driving productivity of the team
  • Ensuring orders are shipped timely and accurately
  • Utilizing MARSHALLTOWN applications to drive efficiencies
  • Ensuring all safety aspects of the jobs are being followed by employees
  • Setting up and operating and performing basic equipment adjustments as required
  • Training/Cross-Training both new and existing employees
  • Performing quality checks, regularly, ensuring quality standards are met
  • Operating powered industrial equipment to move product and materials in an efficient and safe manner
  • Accurately entering data into computer systems to track material movements and locations
  • Other duties and project work as assigned
  • Keeps immediate supervisor informed of important matters which must be handled at that level, with emphasis on critical incidents related to employee safety and security
  • Contributes to a cooperative working effort by demonstrating a willingness to perform other job-related work, as needed or requested
  • Decision-making and authority are exercised with good judgment, recognizing when others must be involved
  • Shows initiative in gaining and maintaining the skills, abilities, and knowledge required to perform this position in at least a fully qualified and satisfactory manner
