About The Position

The Shipping Supervisor leads end-to-end logistics operations within a manufacturing environment, ensuring the efficient movement, storage, and distribution of materials and finished goods to meet production schedules and customer demand. This role partners closely with production, procurement, and transportation teams to streamline processes, reduce costs, and maintain on-time delivery performance. The Supervisor manages and develops a team of logistics professionals, driving safety, compliance, and operational excellence through strong leadership and performance management. By leveraging systems, data, and continuous improvement practices, this position ensures logistics operations effectively support overall manufacturing objectives and customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in logistics or supply chain roles within a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven experience supervising or leading a team in a logistics or warehouse setting.
  • Strong knowledge of logistics processes including inventory management, transportation, and warehousing.
  • Proficiency with logistics software systems and Microsoft Office Suite.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or related discipline.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle.
  • Certification in logistics or supply chain management (e.g., APICS CPIM, CSCP).
  • Demonstrated ability to manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts.

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily logistics operations including inbound and outbound shipments, inventory control, and warehouse management.
  • Coordinate with production and procurement teams to align logistics activities with manufacturing schedules and material requirements.
  • Supervise, train, and develop logistics staff to ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for process improvement and implement corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with transportation providers and vendors to negotiate contracts and optimize freight costs.
  • Ensure accurate documentation and reporting of logistics activities to maintain regulatory compliance and internal standards.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance logistics efficiency, reduce lead times, and minimize operational costs.
