About The Position

The position involves providing ongoing shift leadership to plant warehousing and shipping employees, ensuring quality and delivery performance for the plant. The role requires interaction with other supervisors, operators, engineers, management, maintenance, and customers. A strong knowledge of production scheduling, safety, housekeeping, and warehousing requirements is essential. The supervisor will oversee the movement of finished goods through the warehouse from receiving through shipping and returns, continuously measuring and monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) and implementing corrective actions as needed. Additionally, the supervisor will ensure inventory accuracy and focus on maintaining and improving operating efficiencies, including employee productivity. Responsibilities also include determining orders required to ship, generating shipping documents, completing performance evaluations, and providing continuous performance feedback, including disciplinary actions when necessary. The role requires coordination of shipments and fostering a cohesive working relationship with carriers, as well as ensuring data integrity within company enterprise systems such as TMC and SAP. Managing manpower and resource limitations while maintaining positive morale in the department is crucial, along with setting challenging yet reasonable standards and expectations.

Requirements

  • Must be experienced and have broad knowledge of production functions such as: shipping, receiving, inventory control, employee relations, and customer service.
  • Ability to use personal computer skills utilizing software such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Experience with QAD or other warehouse management systems.
  • Possess effective communication and interpersonal skills along with a high degree of attention to detail.
  • Capable of advanced problem solving and persistence to carry out job functions.
  • Able to work weekends and extended shifts as needed.
  • Basic Math Skills

Responsibilities
