About The Position

At Hood Container - Lebanon we are looking for a Shipping Supervisor – 2nd Shift. This role is an hourly role reporting to the Shipping Manager. In this role, you will be an integral part of our Shipping Management Team which includes a Shipping Manager, two Shipping Supervisors (one for each of 2 shifts), and one Shipping Clerk. As the 2nd Shift Shipping Supervisor you will be responsible for maintaining a daily shipping 'Hot List', planning shipments primarily via our fleet of six trucks, adding common carriers as needed or as assigned by the customer, managing a pick list for two offsite warehouses, maintaining dock appointments, preparing Delivery Receipts for outbound shipments, ensuring proper loading and unloading of trailers and serving as a backup to other Shipping Management Team members.

Requirements

  • High school diploma required; college degree preferred
  • Five-years’ experience in a manufacturing and shipping environment required
  • Ability to multi-task and produce accurate work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to supervise through coaching, inspiring employees to perform at their best
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with a highly diverse environment
  • Ability to retain technical information
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Products and experience with diverse shipping platforms
  • Experience with Amtech would be an advantage
  • Self-starter and team player
  • General high level of enthusiasm and creative ability
