About The Position

Join our global manufacturing team at Ocean Optics, where precision logistics and operational excellence support the delivery of cutting-edge optical solutions. As a Shipping Specialist, you will be responsible for coordinating domestic and international shipments, managing inventory systems, and supporting warehouse operations across multiple regions.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or associate degree in logistics or supply chain preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in shipping, receiving, or logistics in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (D365, Oracle, SAP), Microsoft Office, and logistics platforms.
  • Familiarity with international shipping regulations and customs procedures.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and across global teams.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee shipping processes for high-value optical components and systems.
  • Staging consolidated shipments, creating a complete manifest list.
  • Daily and Weekly consolidated shipment for international shipments.
  • Ensure compliance with international shipping regulations and documentation.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy using ERP systems and logistics platforms.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure timely and secure delivery.
  • Support warehouse operations including material handling, packaging, and stock replenishment.
  • Prepare and process domestic and international shipments, including customs documentation and harmonization codes.
  • Operate logistics software (e.g., D365) for inventory tracking, order fulfillment, and shipment scheduling.
  • Coordinate freight carriers (UPS, FedEx, DHL) and manage logistics timelines.
  • Maintain accurate records for audits, ISO compliance, and regulatory reporting.
  • Attention to detail is critical to ensure correct items and values are verified before shipment.
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Communicate logistics issues and delays to department Manager and Customer Service.
  • Other duties as assigned.
